La Lou was born out of a passion for flowers, magic and haircare. Read the La Lou story below, as told by our founder, cosmetologist and active fairy, Louise.
It all started in 1891, when a family fled Italy for Brazil. With literally nothing, the De Nobilis worked on a farm in the state of Paraná, in southern Brazil, for years. The matriarch and her daughters were very vain, but they spent hours and hours working in the sun and the stress contributed to their hair becoming seriously damaged.
The family didn't have much and the youngest, Giuseppina, began mixing flowers that she picked with her mother to make hair creams and oils. What they didn't imagine was that, with a simple infusion of flowers, they would create truly precious products that would save thousands of heads of hair, including yours.
Since then, the secret of the precious flowers has been kept by the women of the De Nobili family and passed down from generation to generation.
But they were too wonderful to be used by so few people. That's why I'm going to share with you the greatest inheritance I could ever receive: the knowledge of products that have been perfected for over 90 years by each new witch, or rather, fairy.
Giuseppina De Nobili was my great-grandmother. A simple Italian woman with a wealth of knowledge that inspired me to travel all over Europe, studying and searching for small additions to transform her simple witchcraft into extraordinary products.
